Scientific Writing Workshop

General information

The workshop will take place on 12.02.2025 10am - 17pm.
A scientific writing workshop held by Dr. Vera Leberecht will take place, focusing on the following topics:

Taking inventory: your strengths, experiences, and challenges as a scientific writers

Using text analysis to become a better writer

Q&A with Prof. Lukas Kühne: e.g., choosing journals and approaching journal editors, making collaborative writing work, finding your own ‘voice’, layout questions, etc.

Cyclical writing: a quick approach to get started, and get your writing done!

Throughout the workshop, you work with published papers from your own fields of research, or on your own current writing projects.
Furthermore, Dr. Vera Leberecht will be supported by Lukas Kühne.
Dr. Vera Leberecht studied Linguistics, Intercultural Communication, and Theology in Germany and Finland and received additional training as a trainer for scientific writing.

How to participate

12 members of the TRR 358 may take part and the workshop will take place online. The registration will be done via e-mail on a first come, first serve basis. The first 12 e-mails received at cmazzanti(at)math(dot)uni-bielefeld(dot)de after 12pm noon on Monday, 27.01.2025, will be considered. Please only register if you are sure you will participate, so as not to take anyone else's spot.
